Yesterday I chanced upon a show called "Katrina Pet Rescue". It is about the animals which were left behind by the people of the places affected by this natural disaster. I was really touched and cried when i watch one part of the show. They interview a 73 year old man. When the disaster struck, the people were asked to evacuate and this old man wanted to bring along his beloved pet cat but was rejected. They told him that animals were not allowed so he had to keep his kitty at home, hoping that he would be back a few days later. He told the interviewee that he regretted for not bringing his kitty along. He had no idea what happened to kitty and he was very sad. He cried while he was being interviewed. He also said that he would never leave kitty alone again and that how could he live without his little furry friend. Then, he decided to go back for his kitty. He spent most of his money on his transportation fee from South Carolina to his house. Slowly he pushed opened the door and searched for kitty. He called for kitty and listened carefully to any sound that kitty might make. "Meow...Meow..." Upon hearing this, he was relieved and glad that his kitty had not come to any harm. The only things that he take along with him was kitty and her necessities. He took none for himself. " I have taken all that i need" He said. Do you feel sad too? Please don't ever leave your pets behind even if they are not allowed. They also have feelings. When they are cut, they also bleed. They are our companions and we must not abandon them when in danger. I think that the government should also allow animals to evacuate with their owners in times of danger. When you see how the animals react after they saw their owners, you would too feel this way.
